There are two ways to launch a professional coffee machine. Ship it to everyone and let the field find the problems — or put it into a small number of real venues first, watch it work under genuine service pressure, and let engineers act on what actual shifts reveal. Vea Group builds the second way.
The Carimali Armonia U, the group's fully-automatic flagship, entered service through exactly this practice. Among the selected venues: an international hotel property in Milan, where the machine faces the least forgiving test hospitality offers — the breakfast rush, conference breaks that arrive all at once, and guests who did not come to think about the coffee machine.
What a hotel asks of a fully-automatic
A hotel drinks programme runs on fresh milk, speed, and repetition. The Armonia U was engineered around that reality: CariCream fresh-milk frothing, hot and cold, handling up to two different milks simultaneously, with the milk system mounted on the door and engineered for better in-cup temperature. Around 250 cups a day. A 13-inch touchscreen that staff learn in minutes. A metal frame, cool-touch lances, and customisable side panels that let the machine belong to the room it stands in.
What the engineers are watching
A pilot is not a demonstration — it is instrumentation. The machine's connectivity reports how it is actually used: consumption by site, cleaning cycles, and faults made visible before a customer notices them. Recipes are managed centrally and pushed to the machine remotely, which for a multi-site operator is the difference between a standard and a suggestion.
Serviceability was designed in from the start, and the pilot is where that design meets reality: front access and split panels so routine work happens on the counter, a plug-and-play brewing group that lifts out and replaces as a unit, and a milk system that removes as a single sub-assembly. When something needs attention in a working hotel, the measure that matters is minutes, not appointments.
Why pilot-first
Putting a flagship into selected real venues before general rollout costs patience. What it buys is a machine whose behaviour in the field is known rather than hoped for — and venues that got a working programme, not a beta test. That trade is the point: it is a statement of engineering care, and it is how the group intends to keep launching.
